Accessibility statement
This statement describes how accessible this website is, what has been checked and when, what is not yet accessible and why, and how to report a problem. It covers the website only, not the practice's physical premises, which are addressed separately below.
The standard this site aims for
This site is built to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568, the Israeli adoption of WCAG 2.0 Level AA, as required under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013. What follows is a specific account of where the site stands against that standard, not a general assurance that it is fully compliant everywhere.
What has been checked, and when
The homepage, in both English and Hebrew, was checked on 15 August 2026 using automated scoring, direct measurement of colour contrast against each element's actual background, full keyboard-only navigation, and a complete screen reader pass with VoiceOver conducted personally by Dr. Barkagan. This is the depth of checking this statement can speak to.
This site also publishes a privacy policy, this accessibility statement and a disclosures page, each in English and Hebrew. On 21 August 2026 those six pages were checked for keyboard operation, colour contrast measured against each element's real background, heading and landmark structure, image descriptions, and layout down to a 320 pixel screen width and at 400 percent zoom. No failures were found. They have not had a full screen reader pass of their own, so treat that part as unverified rather than assume it matches the homepage. No Windows screen reader was used for this release.
What was found
Every page in this release, in both languages, is fully keyboard operable. Every element can be reached and used without a mouse, and a skip link jumps straight to the main content. This site has no drop-down menu to open or close. Wherever keyboard focus lands it is clearly visible, as a solid outline that stands out well against the page. It is orange on the landing pages and blue on the privacy, accessibility, disclosures and not-found pages.
Colour contrast was measured piece by piece against each element's real background rather than trusting an automated tool alone, because the page's dotted background can mislead automatic checkers. Measured that way, every piece of text on every page of this site, in both languages, meets or exceeds the standard's contrast requirements.
No page scrolls sideways at any screen width, including at 200 and 400 percent zoom. Anyone whose system is set to reduce motion will not see the page's one animation. The site uses no analytics, no tracking and no cookies of any kind, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing to opt out of.
What is not yet accessible
Every page published in this release exists in both English and Hebrew. The conditions and treatments listed on the homepage are plain text entries, not links, because their detailed pages are not part of this release. They carry no arrow and no link styling, so nothing invites you to activate something that is not there.
The referral control in the booking section is a working email link in both languages. It opens the visitor's own email program and does not submit information through this website. The adjacent privacy notice warns against sending patient-identifying information by ordinary email.
The portrait shown on the homepage is a digitally generated image, not a photograph, and its description for screen readers says so directly.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you run into an accessibility problem on this site, please say so. A description of what you were trying to do, and what happened instead, is the most useful thing you can send. We aim to respond to accessibility reports within 14 days.
Accessibility coordinator: Dr. Michael Barkagan.
The practice's physical premises
This statement covers the website only. It does not describe the accessibility of the physical premises at Assuta Ramat HaHayal, Clinics Building, 12 HaBarzel St, Tel Aviv, Floor 8, Heart Institute. Those arrangements are operated by Assuta and have not been assessed for this statement. Nothing written above should be taken to describe them.
Statement date
This statement reflects the state of the website as checked on 15 August 2026 for the homepage and on 21 August 2026 for every page in this release, in both languages, as described above.
