Accessibility statement

This statement describes how accessible this website is, what has been checked and when, what is not yet accessible and why, and how to report a problem. It also summarises Assuta’s published accessibility arrangements for the medical centre and ambulatory tower, with contact details for assistance.

The standard this site aims for

This site is built to meet Israeli Standard IS 5568 Part 1 (September 2023), based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA with Israeli modifications, as required under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013. What follows is a specific account of where the site stands against that standard, not a general assurance that it is fully compliant everywhere.

What has been checked, and when

On 26 October 2026, the current Hebrew, English and Russian home, FAQ and not-found pages, and the Hebrew and English privacy, accessibility and disclosures pages, received local automated and browser checks. Layout checks covered widths of 320, 768 and 1440 CSS pixels. Selected keyboard checks covered the FAQ question index, question selection, image enlargement, closing dialogs and returning focus.

Tests on 25–26 October also covered selected FAQ interactions in Safari, FAQ reading and navigation at native 400 percent zoom in Chrome, and selected interactions with macOS Increase contrast and Reduce motion enabled. These are scoped desktop checks, not physical-phone or spoken screen-reader tests.

On 1 October 2026, the then-current English, Hebrew and Russian homepages were reviewed locally in Chrome at viewport widths of 320, 768 and 1440 CSS pixels. The review included rendered pages and selected keyboard interactions. Privacy, accessibility, disclosures and not-found pages were also inspected for headings, page language and language-switch links; they did not receive a complete keyboard or screen-reader review.

Earlier records describe an English/Hebrew homepage review with VoiceOver on 15 August 2026, supporting-page checks on 21 August 2026, and Russian checks in September 2026. These describe the versions tested on those dates and do not establish the accessibility of later changes.

Earlier findings from 1 October 2026

The findings below describe that earlier version. Later local checks covered the updated pages as described above; historical findings are retained here for context.

On the three homepages, the About disclosure opened with Enter and closed with Space. Privacy settings opened a dialog; Escape closed it and returned focus to the Privacy settings button. Visible focus styles were observed on sampled controls. These selected checks do not cover every control on every page.

No sideways page scrolling was observed on the homepages at the three tested widths, or in an additional 320 by 256 CSS pixel viewport. These were viewport checks, not tests using the browser’s 200 or 400 percent zoom controls. A separate test that doubled the base text size at 320 pixels produced sideways scrolling in all three languages.

The About disclosure also worked with JavaScript disabled. With a reduced-motion preference emulated in the browser, no caret animation was observed. Analytics is optional; the consent controls and Privacy settings provide acceptance and rejection choices.

Known limitations and checks still needed

The current version has not had a complete spoken screen-reader review or physical-phone review. In particular, the current FAQ interactions still need spoken VoiceOver checks in Hebrew and English and physical iPhone and Android checks. Contrast measurements cover selected elements and states, not every possible combination. Verification of the published version remains outstanding. Automated results and earlier tests do not establish full compliance.

The homepage, FAQ and not-found page are available in Russian. Privacy, accessibility and disclosures pages are available in English and Hebrew. Russian pages link to this statement in Hebrew, with English available through the language switch. Conditions and treatments on the homepage are plain text entries because their detailed pages are outside this release.

The referral link opens the visitor’s email program and does not submit information through this website. A warning against sending patient-identifying information by ordinary email is displayed below the referral controls and associated with the referral link. It also appears in the privacy policy.

The portrait is a digitally generated image, not a photograph. Its alternative text states this; spoken screen-reader output for the current version remains untested.

Clinic access and assistance at Assuta

The clinic is at Assuta Ramat HaHayal, Clinics Building, 12 HaBarzel St, Tel Aviv, Floor 8, Heart Institute. The following summarises Assuta’s published arrangements for Ramat HaHayal and its ambulatory tower, checked on 26 October 2026. It is based on Assuta’s information, not an on-site inspection of the consultation room.

  • Parking and lifts: Assuta lists the car park entrance at 14 HaBarzel St. From parking levels −2, −3 and −4, lifts reach the ambulatory tower’s ground floor. After security screening, visitors change to the main lifts for the clinic floors. The main lifts are accessible and have spoken announcements.
  • Facilities: Assuta reports accessible toilets in the main lobby and on every floor, a lowered reception desk and hearing loop at the ground-floor main reception, and an accessible examination room in each ambulatory clinic or institute.
  • Wheelchairs and assistance: a wheelchair-loan station is available at the hospital’s main entrance, using a credit card as a deposit without a charge. An escort from the car can be arranged in advance through Assuta’s information and appointments service. On arrival, assistance can also be requested from security or the information desk.
  • Accessible information: large print, Braille, audio and reading assistance are available through Assuta. Sign-language interpretation requires advance coordination with its service team or accessibility coordinator.
  • Service animals: Assuta allows guide dogs and service animals, with restrictions in invasive-procedure rooms and some imaging areas. In those cases, ask the staff about a suitable arrangement for the service animal.

For assistance or to confirm the arrangements needed for your visit, contact Assuta’s accessibility coordinator, Eli Mimran: 03-7644447 or assutanegishut@assuta.co.il. You can also use Assuta’s contact options (Hebrew).
